Cullercoats is a beautiful, small fishing village set on the North East coast . Historically based in Northumberland, it has now been absorbed into North Tyneside, sitting between the beautiful bays of Tynemouth & Whitley Bay. Easily accessible from Newcastle International Airport & a short metro ride away, from both the airport & Newcastle City Centre. Making it an ideal getaway destination.

There is a semi-circular sandy beach with cliffs and six caves, and the village is a popular destination for holiday makers wishing to make the most of the local culinary delights, water sports & coastal walks and bike rides.The name is thought to derive from dove (or "culver") cotes.
tynemouth
Tynemouth village is home to a stunning stretch of beach called Longsands which has just has been named one of the top 10% of attractions worldwide in the 2020 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards!
The awards were given out to destinations that received consistently great traveller feedback over a year, prior to any changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s the latest of many accolades for the beach which is famous for its golden sands and surf schools and a regular winner of the coveted Blue Flag award and Seaside Awards for excellence.
With beautiful soft golden sand & amazing views across to Cullercoats Bay & Tynemouth priory as a backdrop it’s little surprise that the award has been given.
The village is host to a number of world class eateries & some lovely boutique shops.
whitley bay
Whitley Bay Beach, a long golden sand beach with Blue Flag award-winning beach, stretches from Whitley Bay North towards St Mary's Lighthouse. It is a popular place for recreation and is regularly used by walkers & cyclists alike. There are plenty of places to get refreshments including Spanish City which sites a number of eateries. Then there is the trendy independent destination of Park View with some amazing independent shops, cafes, bars & restaurants
NORTH SHIELDS
North Shields is situated on the north side of the Tyne river close to the mouth of the river and just upstream from the village of Tynemouth. There is a ferry across the river from North Shields to South Shields. North Shields was originally part of Tynemouth & is the site of a famous fish quay and has much character featuring some beautiful Georgian properties. It is also the terminus for sea ferry cruises to the port of Amsterdam.
The buzzing Fish Quays area is the best place to explore the history of the port of North Shields. It is home to one of two prominent towers that were ‘leading’ ‘lights’ for guiding ships away from the dangerous Black Middens rocks at Tynemouth and the treacherous Shields Bar at the mouth of the Tyne. The towers are known as Low Lights & Highlights.
There are some lovely pubs, bars & restaurants in the area including Staith House a highly commended gastropub.
Newcastle & Gateshead
Gateshead & Newcastle are united by seven iconic bridges across a buzzing Quayside to form one great diverse and extremely vibrant visitor destination based in the North East of England. Only a three hour trip from London by train & an onward 90 minutes to Edinburgh.
