The Baltic Centre of Contemporary Art located on the Quayside at Newcastle is the largest gallery of its kind in the world. With an impressive rolling calander of exhibitions & events by some of the art world's most prominent figures, it is a must-see for all.
Newcastle’s award-winning Life Science Centre brings learning to life for a hugely enjoyable fun family day out. With excellent exhibitions, an amazing 4D motion simulator ride, live science shows & the North's biggest planetarium all under one roof. In the winter the Life Centre hosts the city's seasonal ice rink, situated in the middle of Times Square.

The Metrocentre at Gateshead is Europe's largest indoor shopping and leisure centre. Packed with high street favourites, one-off stores and boutiques, it’s retail heaven for all ages & genres. It’s also home to an IMAX cinema and the centre hosts over 50 various restaurants.
The iconic Angel of the North sculpture is arguably one of the countries finest pieces of public art, designed by Antony Gormley it is greatly admired by up to 150,000 visitors each year. At 54 metres wide and 20 metres high, the Angel of the North, dominates the Newcastle & Gateshead skylines.
The Theatre Royal in Newcastle is one of only nine Grade I listed theatre halls in existence in England, Often regarded as the finest theatre in the country, each year this iconic theatre hosts over 300 shows. The impressive iconic building on Grey Street is also the regional home to the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, Opera North and the Rambert Dance Company.
The Tyneside Cinema is Newcastle’s oldest, and most impressive cinema. A varied events programme features brilliant global films plus the latest Hollywood offerings. As the last surviving Newsreel theatre still operating as a cinema full-time in the UK, this Grade II listed building is an important, must-see piece of heritage, not just regionally, but nationally too. Best of all, it has been lovingly restored to preserve and celebrate the grandeur of its original 1937 Art Deco design.

On the more modern scene there is the Sage concert hall at Gateshead showcasing classical and jazz to indie and folk music by world-renowned artists. Named one of the top five concert halls on the planet! this uniquely designed venue also plays host to some of the North East's best events, as well boasting a really lovely brasserie.
The Great North Museum is a fabulous family day out with its diversepieces from the Hancock Museum & Newcastle University’s Museum of Antiquities, the Shefton Museum & the Hatton Gallery. The Hancock also holds after-hours events throughout the year allowing the opportunity of an unusual evening out in Newcastle.
