Tynemouth village is a vibrant location steeped in history with some fabulous attractions, boutique shopping and a buzzing nightlife.
Tynemouth Priory & Castle dramatically dominate the headland. This site dates back centuries and is the burial place of Saints and Kings.

The imposing monument to Lord Collingwood looking across the river Tyne is in honour of the local born Admiral. There is a truly breathtaking walks along the promenade to the Fish Quay at North Shields and the walk along Tynemouth Long Sands is a superb mile long golden sandy beach. It has some lovely bars & restaurants on Longsands & also in King Edwards Bay. Surfing is popular on Longsands and it is a nationally recognised watersports hub.

There is an Aquarium in Tynemouth providing family entertainment with fantastic displays of marine life including otters, seals and even a colony of monkeys.
​
Tynemouth Park has a dinosaur themed mini golf course and pedalo boats are available to hire on the boating lake.
​
The two main streets in Tynemouth - Front Street and Percy Park Road have a good mix of shops, traditional pubs, cafes and bars.
Tynemouth’s Metro Station has recently been restored to its Victorian splendour and holds large weekend markets with local crafts & foods and also antiques.

Each year, Tynemouth is home to events including the Mouth of the Tyne Festival and the Tynemouth Food Festival.
